Privacy Policy - Shoopt

1. Introduction

Shoopt helps users optimize shopping by scanning product images and saving price data. We use AI for product recognition and location services to enrich product metadata.

2. Collected Data

• Product photos: processed locally or via trusted AI services.
• GPS location (approximate): used to associate a product with a nearby store; precise coordinates are never displayed publicly.
• Authentication: Email/password or Google Sign-In.
• Community contributions: Products you choose to share (name, optional photo, store, timestamp, approximate city/distance).
• Premium subscription status: Whether you are a Premium member (no payment info stored by us).
• Technical data: Device info for functionality.
• Future analytics: Planned Firebase Analytics events respecting user consent.

3. Data Storage

Beta: Mostly local device storage with limited remote sync.

Production: Firebase Realtime Database + secure cloud storage for product images.

4. Purpose of Data Collection

To provide core features: product management, community discovery, gamification, and optional Premium benefits.

5. Data Sharing

No personal data is shared except what you explicitly choose (community products). Third-party services:

• Image recognition (AI provider)
• Firebase (database, auth, analytics)
• Google Play (subscription billing)

6. Premium Subscription

We store only a flag indicating Premium status and related counters (shared/viewed products). Payment processing and invoices are handled by Google Play; we do not store credit card or billing details.

7. Community Privacy

Shared products display only: product info, pseudonym, approximate distance and city (blurred location). You may opt-out by keeping products private.

8. Security

Industry standard measures (encrypted transport, limited write rules). No method is 100% secure but we strive for best practices.

9. Your Rights

Request deletion or stop sharing anytime. Remove the app to delete local data. Future versions will add in-app deletion tools.
